Maha Shivratri 2024: How To Make Sattvik Coconut Carrot Chutney


Welcome to the celebration of Maha Shivratri 2024! Let's make a delicious Sattvik Coconut Carrot Chutney to honor Lord Shiva's favorite ingredients.


First, gather 1 cup grated coconut, 1 cup grated carrots, 1 tsp cumin seeds, 1 tsp mustard seeds, 1 tsp grated ginger, and 2-3 green chilies.


In a pan, heat 1 tbsp ghee and add cumin and mustard seeds. Once they splutter, add ginger and green chilies. Sauté for a minute.


Add grated coconut and carrots to the pan. Cook for 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are soft.


Turn off the heat and let the mixture cool down. Then, grind it into a smooth paste using a blender or mortar and pestle.


In a separate pan, heat 1 tbsp ghee and add 1 tsp urad dal and 1 tsp chana dal. Once they turn golden brown, add 1 tsp curry leaves and 1 tsp grated coconut.


Pour the ground chutney mixture into the pan and mix well. Add salt to taste and let it cook for 2-3 minutes.


Your Sattvik Coconut Carrot Chutney is ready! Serve it with your favorite snacks or as a side dish with your meal.
