How To Make South Indian Sol Kadhi

Welcome to the world of South Indian cuisine! Today, we'll learn how to make the refreshing and tangy Sol Kadhi.

First, gather the ingredients: coconut milk, kokum, green chilies, ginger, garlic, cumin, coriander, and salt.

In a blender, mix 1 cup of coconut milk, 4-5 kokum, 2 green chilies, 1 inch ginger, 2 cloves garlic, 1 tsp cumin, 1 tsp coriander, and a pinch of salt.

Blend until smooth and creamy. Adjust the consistency by adding more coconut milk or water.

Next, strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve to remove any chunks or fibers.

In a pan, heat 1 tsp oil and add 1 tsp mustard seeds. Once they start to splutter, add 1 sprig of curry leaves and 1 dried red chili.

Pour the strained mixture into the pan and let it simmer for 5-7 minutes.

Add 1 tsp sugar and 1 tsp lemon juice for a balance of flavors. You can also add a pinch of asafoetida for extra flavor.

Once the Sol Kadhi is heated through, turn off the heat and let it cool for a few minutes.

Serve chilled as a refreshing drink or as a side dish with your favorite South Indian meal. Enjoy the burst of flavors in every sip!
